CHARLIE METHVEN – CHAIRMAN - FOUNDING PARTNER
Charlie Methven is a top international Public Relations expert, ranked by Spearâ€™s Wealth in November 2017 as â€śoutstanding in fieldâ€ť and amongst the top 10 reputation managers in London.
He has run successful Public Relations agencies for over a decade, acting as Managing Director of New Century Media for five years from 2006, before going on to found Dragon Advisory in September 2011. Prior to entering the world of public relations consultancy, Charlie had a stellar career on national newspapers. Starting as a reporter on the Sporting Life, he eventually became a columnist and leader writer on the Daily Telegraph, where he had previously edited the paperâ€™s famous Peterborough column. He has also written for the Spectator, the Evening Standard and a wide range of other periodicals.
Charlieâ€™s personal clients include sovereign nations, high net worth individuals, asset managers and luxury brands. Educated at Eton College and Oxford University, away from work his interests include football, horseracing and golf.
LAURENCE JONES – PARTNER
Laurence has extensive experience at the highest level in global public relations. He manages a number of high profile mandates encompassing reputation management, crisis communications, corporate advisory work, sports PR, international bondholder disputes, government advisory and major real estate regeneration projects.
His clients have included international property developers, fund managers, wealth managers, sports promoters, governments, hedge funds and prominent individuals.
Prior to joining Dragon, he spent four years at Financial Dynamics (now FTI Consulting) as a real estate PR specialist and began his career at FTSE 100 UK supermarket J Sainsbury plc in its investor relations department. Laurence was educated at Downside and Bristol University.
GEORGE MORRISON – PARTNER
George is a senior strategic advisor to major City and corporate brands.
He has led a wide range of cutting edge campaigns for FTSE 100 banks, brokerages, fund managers, wealth managers, law firms, fintech companies, PE houses and accountants.
George has first class strengths in strategy, creativity and issues management, as well as an ability to find news value in any organisation – large, small, mass-market or niche.
Prior to Dragon, he worked at global PR consultancy, Grayling, creating a PR programme for Lloyds Banking Group’s Wealth business that demonstrably improved its bottom line, helped execute its corporate strategy and was a finalist at both PR Week and Sabre Awards.
He holds a BA (Hons) in German and Philosophy from King’s College, London.
VICTORIA SCOTT – SENIOR ASSOCIATE
As part of the Luxury team Victoria has a deep understanding of the luxury and lifestyle sector and an enviable network of contacts.
Victoria provides strategic advice to our clients and delivers exceptional PR campaigns that support our client’s business goals.
Before joining Dragon Victoria was PR Manager at Anouska Hempel Design where she designed and implemented a strategy that successfully developed the brand. Previously she was a Senior Press Officer at The Colefax Group and Communications Executive at Coca-Cola.
She was educated at The Godolphin School and read Business at the University of the West of England.
HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
LEO MALIM – HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Leo heads Business Development at Dragon, bringing new clients to the fold and assisting them in achieving their growth targets.
Utilising the company’s corporate and luxury brand PR expertise, combined with the auxiliary corporate finance teams, he identifies clients best suited to Dragon’s strategic skillset and works with them to achieve their tactical and financial goals.
Leo has worked with clients in North Africa, Europe, Middle East and Russia and has built and exited a number of businesses. He brings a strong entrepreneurial spirit and skillset to Dragon and its clients.
Leo was educated at Eton and holds an MA from the University of St Andrews.
JAMES HORSMAN – PARTNER
James has sixteen years of experience in advising some of the world’s most successful brands in growing and managing reputation. His three core areas of specialism are professional services, financial services and energy.
He has served as Head of Marketing & Communications at top tier consulting firms Bain & Company, A.T. Kearney and EY – as well as having held senior leadership positions at global communications firms Edelman, Hill & Knowlton and FTI Consulting.
His career has frequently seen him advise clients on cross border transactions and brand development involving a range of complex regulatory and reputational challenges. This has located him in a range of diverse markets including Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and the United States as well as the United Kingdom. His work has included acting as a lead advisor in petrochemical major SABIC’s $11.6bn acquisition of GE plastics in 2007, as well as acting as an advisor to the Boards of Northern Rock, Allied Irish and Anglo Irish Banks following the 2008 financial crisis. At the beginning of his career, James worked as a Parliamentary researcher and aide to several prominent Conservative Party politicians, having held several senior campaigning roles within the Party. He has also spent time in the British Judge’s Cabinet of the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg; the UK Cabinet Office (House of Lords Appointments Commission); the UK Department for Culture Media and Sport; and the BBC’s Political Research Unit in Westminster.
James is particularly skilled in advising Managing Partners and Chief Executives in implementing internal change emanating from large scale M&A and mission critical restructuring that requires rapid understanding and immediate resolution.
James has a degree in History & Politics from Warwick University and was called to the Bar of England & Wales as a double Scholar of Lincoln’s Inn in 2000, having completed his training as a corporate Barrister at City University and the Inns of Court School of Law, London. He sits as a Board Director and Trustee of the international children’s charity, the Railway Children, and serves as a School Governor at a large secondary school in West Sussex, in the United Kingdom.
GEORDIE HAZEEL – ASSOCIATE
Geordie specialises in communications and public affairs consultancy, primarily providing strategic advice to sovereign states and international financial corporations.
Prior to joining Dragon, Geordie held a training contract at Linklaters, having previously conducted internships in corporate law.
He was educated at Eton College and the University of Cambridge, from which he graduated with a Double First.
CHESTER ALDEN – ASSOCIATE
Chester joined Dragon in July following a degree in International Business Management at the Royal Agricultural University. He had previously interned with Dragon for three months during his degree and is looking to specialise in the financial services area of communications.
Previous work experience has taken him to the Red Bull Racing F1 team, and 21st Century Learning International, an educational technology consultancy based in Hong Kong.
COURTNEY JEVONS – OPERATIONS MANAGER
Courtney handles all aspects of operations for Dragon, supporting the CEO and both the Luxury and Corporate teams.
Having always concentrated on operations, Courtney was previously at nbi Human Capital Ltd as part of their business support team, based in London but working closely with their global offices.
She was educated at St Maryâ€™s Ascot and read History at the University of the West of England; succeeded by the Graduate Training Programme at Quest Business School.
ANNESLEY ABERCORN – PARLIAMENTARY CONSULTANT
Annesley has 16 years political experience having worked forÂ several parliamentarians including a senior Cabinet Minister.
He has also stood as a Westminster and European Parliamentary Candidate and chaired a well known think tank. Annesley has a deep understanding of the Westminster parliamentary process and maintains a strong interest in British politics.
He was educated at Highgate School and University College London where he obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in politics. He is the Founder & Chairman of The Dream Ball which supports aspiration for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
OBI ASIKA – DRAGON AFRICA
Obi heads Dragon’s African practice. He is highly networked across Africa and London and provides top line advice to major clients.
He has a strong understanding of international markets and media landscape, enabling him to provide up-todate and ‘in the know’ service to clients.
Obi has extensive experience of the oil and gas, procurement and business support sectors, and sits on the boards of a diverse range of companies, including the largest infrastructure provider in Nigeria, PPC, and boards in the events, marketing, media, ICT and property sectors.
He has advised the World Bank in Nigeria, the International Finance Corporation, the Bank of Industry on creative industries, and the national economic management team. He is the executive producer of Dragon’s Den Nigeria, The Apprentice Africa, and World Cup Village.

COLIN METHVEN – NON-EXEC DIRECTOR
Colin Methven is a former director of insurance broking giant Willis Faber and Dumas (now known as Willis), where he ran the firm’s operations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Australasia for many years.
After retiring from Willis following a thirty year career, he was subsequently appointed President of the London Insurance Institute, executive chairman of the Cavalry and Guards Club (which he ran for four years) and was elected a district councillor in his native region, the Cotswolds.
A former officer in the Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, Colin brings to Dragon his huge experience of emerging markets, as well as of a complete understanding of the running of agency businesses.
